Allard moves out

Kylie McAllister @smileeyyykylie [Co Executive Yearbook Editor]

As the end of the school year is approaching, and plans for next year are being made, one very important teacher will not be returning to Marion High School.

Mr. Chad Allard, band instructor, has decided to take on a new job at a different school next year. Olivia Frazier, junior, has had Allard as her teacher throughout her high school career and when he broke the news to the band yesterday there were many mixed emotions. “It was very surprising and very unexpected,” stated Frazier. Frazier is going to miss some special characteristics that Allard possessed. “It will be weird next year when he’s gone because it is easy to approach him about something I’m doing wrong,” Frazier said.

While Allard will be moving to Jefferson next year to be the associate director, the Marion Music Department will have to find a new instructor. “I feel like it will be awkward for the first few months depending on who replaces him. We might not be as good as what we could be with Allard,” said Frazier. The students in the music department will have to adjust to the new band instructor next year and just keep trying their best to improve.
