She sits in the cafeteria at a table encased by her friends, but she isn’t focusing on the buzz of students or the smell of lunch. She is immersed in another world. A world of factions, love and war, and sacrifice. Breanna Mundorf sits with her friends as she reads the sneak peak of the new book in the Divergent series, Allegiant.
Divergent by Veronica Roth is a book beloved by many. It takes the reader to a post apocalyptic world that is split into five factions: Dauntless the brave, Amity the peaceful, Erudite the intelligent, Abnegation the selfless, and Candor the honest. The main character Beatrice Prior is an Abnegation citizen, until she takes her aptitude test and discovers she is Divergent (meaning she can switch to three different factions Dauntless, Erudite, and Abnegation). She chooses Dauntless and is taken in and trained by the mysterious Four, who becomes a love interest later in the book.
Insurgent is the second book in this epic trilogy. Not as much happens in this book, though many still enjoy the thrilling novel. The third book in this series, Allegiant, is scheduled to be released on the 22nd of October, 2013. Breanna Mundorf, junior, is very excited for this new release. “I’ve read Divergent and Insurgent already, and I know some of the new book got leaked,” Breanna said, “I’ve already got the leak downloaded and I’m going to read it soon, might as well get a jump start.”
Also, coming out late winter is the movie based on the book. Divergent is coming to theaters March 20th, 2014. Shailene Woodley will be playing Beatrice, and Theo James will be playing Four. “The guy playing Four is so hot, and I think Shailene will do really well. I’m really excited to see how they portray how they live and how they will put all the details from the book into the movie,” gushes Mundorf.
From the new book, to the movie coming soon, Divergent fans are in for a lot of surprises. Many people have been looking forward to these events for months now. “I have no idea what I’m so excited for, I am so so excited,” Mundorf commented. All in all, many people are buzzing for the new and exciting things to come. This will be the final book in Veronica Roth’s series, and she’s got a lot of people expecting an amazing book. Hopefully, everyone is happy.
