He wakes up all excited for his soccer game tonight. He looks out the window and instantly feels dread. It is pouring and lightening out and it doesn’t look like it will get any better. The odds of having this game are very low and he gets disappointed.
Adam Jones, junior, plays soccer for Marion. He isn’t in any other activities. Playing soccer since he was six, it has become one of his favorite activities. “I love soccer because it’s fun. I also love my teammates on the soccer team,” he says. Adam loves soccer and wasn’t happy about having the game cancelled.
The game tonight against Benton has been cancelled due to the weather. Adam was upset to hear about it, but also not too disappointed. “I’m glad I don’t have to go play out in that rain,” he explains. Adam wasn’t too happy about having to play in the downpour, so he is happy they can postpone the game to another day that is hopefully sunny. Because the game is cancelled, Adam is happy to have time to hang out with his friends.
He gets to school and hears about the game. He is disappointed for a couple minutes, but also sees the upside to it. They can now play on another day where it is much nicer and he can now hang out with his friends. He now waits to hear when the game will be postponed to so he can look forward to playing Benton then.
