It’s getting close to the end of the year and every senior knows it’s coming. The famous senioritis is hitting the halls of MHS pretty hard these days. For senior Alee Doneson though, it’s in the middle for her. “I pull myself together and think about how my grades are important,” she says, “I really need to focus, but I do suffer from senioritis sometimes.”
For a lot of seniors, it’s like once the end of the year comes it’s time to start slacking off and just think about how your high school days are almost over. But to Alee it’s different, “I think senioritis is in the mind,” she states, “The more you think about school being over the more you know you don’t want to do any work.” Alee continues with, “We never stopped doing work before we were seniors at the end of the year, so we can’t stop doing things now just to be done.”
I’d have to say a lot of us can’t be as focused as Alee because some of the signs of senioritis are really kicking in. Things like grades dropping, clothes getting more comfy then dressy, and lack of sleep. “I like sweatpants,” Alee says, “I just like to dress comfortable.” One of the biggest signs for Alee is that she finds herself not wanting to get up for school a lot of days.
Well seniors, there it is. One of your own classmates says she admits to signs of senioritis but can pull through it! So let’s all stick with Alee, keep our grades up, and get ready for
graduation in the short 5 weeks we have left!
