She wakes in the morning, takes a shower and goes back upstairs to pick out her outfit. She does her makeup and hair then eats breakfast.

This is a typical morning for freshman Kaitie Connelly, but she wasn’t always this laid back about school.

“Before my first day of high school I was going to pee my pants I was so nervous.” What Kaitie wants people to know is that high school isn’t as scary as people make it seem in movies like Mean Girls and The Breakfast Club.

“ I actually loved my first year of high school and it wasn’t even stressful.” High school doesn’t need to be stressful if proper organization and time management skills are implemented.

“I worked hard in school and if you are focused and nice seniority shouldn’t be a problem.” Comforting words to any new eighth grader coming to Marion next year.
