He walked in the doors on his first day of high school, having no idea what was going to happen or what was going to change. He felt scared but at the same time he was ready for a change.
Trevor Chalstrom is a senior this year and said he is definitely feeling senioritis already. “It’s the beginning of the year and I can honestly say I am done with school,” he laughed. Chalstrom said that he will miss a lot about being in high school but he is ready for a new chapter in life. “I’m ready for a scene change too,” he laughed. Trevor said that sitting in his classes he isn’t the only senior who is feeling this way because he has watched many of his class mates fall asleep in class.
He said senior year has been good so far. “I like having open blocks, and the responsibility and respect given to us,” he said. Trevor said he doesn’t treat younger kids any different because they’re younger because he remembers being scared of older kids when he was a freshman. “I just treat everyone the same,” he smiled.
Trevor said the only bad thing about being a senior is the harder classes. “The higher grade, the harder classes, but I know that they will help next year and make it a little easier,” he said.
Over the four years Trevor has been at Marion he said he has enjoyed it. “I have had a very good experience and I have enjoyed my time here at Marion,” laughed Trevor. “My word of advice for younger kids is to study more because classes are hard but you can get through it.”
He walks in the same doors he did his freshman year, this time he is a senior. Trevor is ready to be the top of the school and represent Marion High School very well.
