kHe sat at a table, pen in hand correcting papers. He finishes and asked what else he should do.
Mitchell Matias, freshman here at Marion, volunteers. He is a volunteer for Ms. Duning. Mitchell likes school; he gets good grades, and is also involved in cross-country.
Mitchell enjoys volunteering because he doesn’t have to take four classes. “Yeah its better than taking a class:” said Mitchell laughing. Even though Mitchell likes volunteering it wasn’t his choice from the beginning. “ I volunteered because my schedule got messed up,” explained Mitchell.
Since Mitchell has had a positive experience with volunteering he is going to continue with it throughout high school. “Yeah I would do it again because it’s not hard”
Mitchell sits at a desk and corrects papers, filing them as he completes them.
