New trends and fads are constantly sweeping the nation, and this week is no different. A new lip craze is effecting teens on a global scale. Girls all over the world are taking part in the “#KylieJennerLipChallenge”.
This new challenge is an attempt to get lips so big they rival Kylie Jenner’s. What started out as a game has left some teens in pain, and with marks that last hours. In order to do the challenge one must find a glass, bottle, or anything that suctions. Once a person’s lips are inside they suck in causing their lips to swell inside the container they’ve chosen. The suctioning lasts up to five minutes, then the bottle is removed to reveal bulging, puffy lips.
The results are not what most had been hoping for. Their lips are either too swollen, or the bottle they used left a bright red ring around their mouth. Most can only laugh at the hilarious outcome of their lip plumping attempt.
Realistically, the reason this challenge doesn’t result in Kylie Jenner worthy lips is because she has an amazing, professional makeup team to get her lips just right. She also uses other tricks to make her lips appear bigger than they actually are. She often lines the outside of her mouth with lip liner causing her lips to seem really full. It has also been rumored, and often talked about, that the young Jenner has had some type of surgery done to enhance her lips. Although she has recently denied these claims in an interview with Grazia magazine people continue to speculate.
Photos of the horrific aftermath of the new challenge can be seen all over Twitter, and one can even find a tutorial on Youtube. This is one trend that isn’t worth trying, and bigger lips are better left to the professionals.
