A student exits the tattoo parlor after enduring the long grueling process of getting a design permanently inked onto his skin. This student is Hayden Meister, senior. He is 18 years old, and about a week ago, Meister decided that it was time to make one of the biggest commitments of his life, getting a tattoo. This was no spontaneous decision though, Meister had wanted a tattoo for some time. “I have always wanted a tattoo,” Meister stated, “My parent’s had one so I decided it was my time to get one. I decided I was going to get one about a year ago.”
The design Meister decided to get permanently on his body was a Marion Indians arrowhead. He didn’t just decide to get it randomly, Marion football is very important to Meister. “Marion football has been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember, and it has shaped me to be who I am today,” explained Meister.
Since Meister is 18, he was able to get it professionally done through Wildside Tattoos. This is not always the case for everyone. Some kids today feel as if they don’t need to wait, and get it done underrage through some illigitimate tattoo artist. “Its not worth it to rush and just to get a tattoo a few years early. You could end up getting something you don’t want, and be stuck with it for the rest of your life,” Meister commented.
Meister has plans on getting more tattoos. “I don’t know what I want to get, but I know I want more,” Meister said. Meisters advice to the youth is to “Get a tattoo, but wait until you’re 18.”
