Drama llama mama

Drama is a part of our everyday lives. Especially in high school, where drama swarms through the student body. It seems like everyday you hear new gossip about someone and honestly, it’s getting old.

Starting drama is clearly pointless, but sometimes it can’t be avoided. Drama is spread by two types of people; people who like to watch a juicy secret spread around, and from someone who honestly just wants you to know what’s going on. Nobody’s going to keep it to themselves when they hear the guy their best friend is dating has been chatting with another girl. They’re going to tell her, because that’s what friends do.

The problem is, there are people who lie and make up the rumors or say something completely out of context to watch a friendship go down in flames. These people clearly crave drama. Reacting to these rumors and lies gives a drama queen a reason to sit back, relax, eat some popcorn, and watch the throwdown. The best thing you can do in any situation, is ask the person directly if they are talking behind your back, or whatever the new drama is that hour. It’s pointless to freak out and start talking about them, when it reality, the drama-starter probably made something out of nothing. You may end up saying something harsh and ruining the friendship yourself, letting the person who created this vicious lie win.

The point is, avoid drama at all costs. The year has just started and drama is already at it’s peak. If you don’t know something for a fact or it won’t benefit the person to know, keep it to yourself.
