Summer is a fun time to travel with family and friends. People don’t have to worry about homework or other school work while traveling and having a good time. Emily Milbach, freshman, was one student who traveled during the 2014 summer break. She took a trip to Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her family and had a really good time. “It was really fun, there’s a ton of stores,” Milbach commented. Many people who make trips to the Mall of America enjoy the four storied building full of stores. Other students took large trips to new countries. Katie Serbousek, junior, went halfway around the world with her mom to Europe. Together they visited France, Germany, England, and Belgium, “It’s a really fun time. You get to experience a different culture,” Serbousek explained. Although it was cold, Serbousek had a great time in a new place. Europe is a continent that is full of history and exciting places including the Eiffel Tower in Paris, concentration camps in Germany, the Love Lock Bridge in Paris, La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the Tower of London in London, and so many more. “My favorite place that we visited was Paris. The food was really good, and the Eiffel Tower was really cool. I loved the gelato, it was really good,” Serbousek said. Experiencing new places is always exciting, especially new countries where the culture is strong and different from the culture here in America. People learn a lot, meet new people, and have an amazing time.
