While in high school students are expected to spend about eight hours a day in class for 180 days out of the year. Homework is just a part of school and it is understandable that teachers will assign it during the school year. But some teachers take it too far.

A couple teachers assign their students with homework to do over their summer vacation. Summer is the time for taking a break from school. And while teachers believe that students need to keep up with their knowledge, students believe that summer is a time to relax after having months of school. Some students feel that the work the teachers weren’t able to fit into the school year shouldn’t be assigned to them during the summer vacation.

For the students in AP calculus a packet has been assigned to them to work on after the school year ends. And the students in AP english were given the task to read three books before next year. Although this doesn’t seem like much, It’s more than any student expects to have to do during their break from school.
