All the practices, sweating, and pre-meets leading to one of the most exciting meets. The home meet, running in front of the whole town. Showing everyone who Marion girl’s track is, by running their hardest and running their hearts out.
Alicia Steepleton, freshman, has her first ever home meet tonight. “[I’m excited] because I’ll get to run with all my teammates, and especially because it’s my birthday,” said Steepleton, as for running she is running her first two hundred in front of everyone tonight. Nerves set in and the pressure is on for tonight as her mom, brother and his girlfriend come to watch her. Running on the same track they practice on, should feel better than on another track but “It’s all the same,” said Steepleton. Taking on the track tonight will be a breeze of Steepleton.
Steepleton is ready to face the challenge of doing a two hundred, running in front of her family, and running on the same track as they practice on. Track is all mental and she has the mindset to do her hardest. Nerves are there until the gun go off then the legs start going and off she goes.
