The dawn is shining through the windows and she knows that her busy day is about to being. Her day is lined up with many activities as well as school. She wonders how they will all get fit in. She heads out the door to start her hectic day.
Hannah Burgess is a busy girl. Her days are fill with activities. They include Speech, Jazz Choir, Choir, Basketball, school, and work. Even though participating in all these activities leave her with little time, she loves it. “I don’t know. [Fitting everything in] just works out great.” Because everything she does has a set schedule it is pretty easy for her to follow and fit every activity she likes into her day.
Speech is going great for Hannah. Both her groups, miming and ensemble are going to state speech this year. They got rating ones at districts, which are the best you can get. Hopefully, her groups will get rating ones at state, which gives the chance of going to all state.
Another activity that Hannah is excited about is Jazz choir. “Very exciting. Fun stuff,” she said with a smile and an airy laugh. They have many competitions coming up like the one in Sioux City. It is an over night and a huge competition for them all. Jazz choir is spilt into two groups. One with six girls and another with 12,six girls and six guys. Hannah is in the group of 12. Also with singing she is in choir and Vocal Varieties, which are the people who sing the National Anthem at sporting events.
Although most of her day is filled with fun activities, she also has school and work to go to. Hannah is home-schooled as well as taking three classes here at the high school. This leaves her with one open block that she tries to get all her home-schooled homework done with. Work is another thing she tries to fit in as much as possible into her busy schedule. “I work as much as I can because I’m going to Spain!” This spring break, Hannah will be crossing the seas to go to Spain. She works whenever she can fit in hours because she needs to save money up to go. Even though school and work aren’t necessary the funniest things, Hannah stills fits them into her busy schedule.
As dark approaches, she gets ready to go home. Her day was filled with activities that she loves and enjoys. As busy as her days are, she wouldn’t trade it. “I being involved,” she said with a smile that lit up her face. As long as her schedule lets her, she will be involved in anything she can.
