A high schooler participates in many sports, and extracurricular activities. Some of them include soccer, speech, marching band, choir, and cross country. She stays busy year round, and all while maintaining good grades.
The roar of the crowd blares through the speakers, the game has begun. Ariel Carter, a junior at MHS, enjoys watching college soccer. “I can relate to and understand these competitive games, because I play soccer.” Carter not only likes to view these games, she also takes pleasure in playing them as well.
Soccer and cross country are the sports Ariel enjoys and plays regularly at Marion High School, “They’re both fun and the team environments are enjoyable to me.” Ariel explained. For cross country she had about eight meets and about ten to fourteen for soccer.
She is also in marching band, although some people would not consider marching band a sport, Ariel thinks otherwise,“I think marching band is a sport because it is actually really physically demanding.” This is her third year in marching band, and it’s just as competitive as any other sport, just in a different way. With Carter being involved in so many different sports and activities, it’s safe to say that her junior year is anything but boring.
