Everyone is in excitement about tonight: the students, teachers and even the donkeys. Yes, tonight the ever-popular Donkey Basketball will be taking place in the Gold gym at Marion High School.  Teams of senior students will be playing against teams of teachers in a game of basketball, but the game has a catch, everyone has to ride donkeys. Leah Pedersen is a senior who is planning to play tonight. She is on a team with 10 other seniors. “I am excited to play donkey basketball because I get to ride a donkey!” says Pedersen excitedly.

Pedersen’s team is hoping to win against the teachers tonight. Although they don’t have any strategies planned, they still think they will be able to pull through. “We are just going to wing it,” said Pedersen with a laugh. This game can be very exciting, but there are some interesting worries that comes along with it. “I’m kind of scared [the donkey] is going to bite me.” Pederson says. When asked if she was excited, another player, Sidney Larsen, said, “I’m excited but I don’t want to fall in poop.” The excitement and strange worries are just some things that come along with this crazy game called donkey basketball.
