The drastic weather changes in Iowa are causing a lot of schools to cancel and have two-hour late starts. The students have very mixed feelings about this. All schools in the area were cancelled last Wednesday and many schools had a two-hour late start Thursday and even some had it last Friday. Not only do students talk about how they wish school were cancelled but there is a lot of complaints on social media also.
Kids use social media to share their thoughts with others now a days. Students complain on Twitter and even Instagram that they don’t like snow or that they wish they had a two hour late start like some of the other schools in the area. Kids that go the Marion wonder why Linn-Mar has a two-hour late start and we don’t. Is there an explanation why? People ask these questions all the time.
The superintendent of the school district gets to decide whether to call off school or not. Some superintendents are stricter than others in the area. Are weather conditions really worse in Iowa where they get school cancelled almost every time there is a snowstorm or are the superintendents just not canceling? Students ask these questions when there is bad weather but they never really get an exact answer.
