Relationships that start off in high school can be hard to keep especially after one graduates and goes off to college. When one person is a freshman in college and the other is a senior in high school the whole long distance thing can be hard. It takes dedication and patience to make it work. Like Shakespeare once said, “absence makes the heart grow fonder,” so maybe the long distance isn’t such a horrible thing.
Carlee Tope, senior, has been dating her boyfriend Ben Wright for almost eight months. She doesn’t like the distance. “Yeah it’s hard to be so far away from him. It’s definitely weird having to be around a bunch of other couples while you’re just sitting there like ‘yep my boyfriend is two hours away.'” she said. Even though Ben is a whole two hours away, they make it work. “Well he comes home a lot with a friend from his dorm and I occasionally go up and visit him.” Visiting each other often is one of the many great things about their relatiosnhip. There are so many amazing things about this relatiosnhip. “Basically our relationship is so amazing because I have the sweetest boyfriend ever. Honestly. But also because we can act completely insane around each other but it just feels like we’re being normal. We’re always havig a good time with each other and we’re always smiling. I wouldn’t change a thing about us,” she explained.
No matter how many miles away her boyfriend is, it doesn’t matter because she knows that they will and can make it work.
