Could it be the end?

By: Kayla Comried [Staff Writer]

She sits in her second hour class, and wonders if it is her last day on this wonderful planet we call Earth.

Jamie Draeger, ’15 does not think the world is going to end today, because of things that have already occurred. “I don’t think it will end because it is already the 21st in Australia and they are perfectly fine,” stated Jamie. Jamie truly believes that today is not the end of the world, for she does not believe it can be predicted. Due to the end being unpredictable she lives every day as though it is her last.

Jamie lives each and every day with no regrets knowing that this second, right now, could be the very last second, the very last moment in her life. “I strongly believe in no regrets because at one point it’s what you wanted and it is what made you happy.” This is her motto and she lives following it every day. Although Jamie lives life to the fullest in each moment, not really planning ahead, she still has some things she would like to accomplish if the world did end.

Everyone has some kind of bucket list, some kind of plan they want to carry out before the world ends, but Jamie’s list is an interesting one. “Before I die I want to meet Keith Urban, go sky diving, and save someone’s life,” explains Jamie with an excited look on her face. If the world ends today nothing on Jamie’s list will be fulfilled, but she still formed it anyway just in case.

As she thinks through all the possible ways today could end she begins to scare herself. She quickly thinks of something else and gets back to work, for no one wants to wonder, could it be the end?

Jamie Draeger, ’15, isn’t worried about the world ending anytime soon.
