Creepin’

By: Breiana Brown [Co-Vox Editor]

There are so many names for it; creepin’, trollin’, facebook stalking, and more. With the Internet, finding information on people is just a click away.

Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, and so many other sites make it very easy to “creep.” The act of Facebook stalking can be used for different intentions. It can either be harmless or turn into actual stalking. Now-a-days you can hop on facebook and 15 minutes later find yourself looking at someones pictures that you don’t even know. Don’t deny it we have all been there one time or another.

Looking people up on the Internet is not frowned upon, it seems like everyone does it. Often times in conversations when someone is talking about a person the others do not know or remember someone will say “look them up!” and along with the story comes a visual. Most teenagers have phones with Internet and that Internet allows them to find basically anything they are looking for.

You’d be surprised how much information you actually put out about yourself on the Internet. Truth is you have probably been Facebook stalked. As long as you’re comfortable with it, keep on doing it, but if you’re concerned you might want to be a tad bit careful.

Posts on Twitter, Facebook and other social networking sites have gotten kids beat up, suspended from school, fired from work, and even arrested and charged. Everyone is trollin’, from your boss, to the cops, to your friends. Watch out, you may be next. You never know who’s creepin’.

Creeping is very popular online, and sometimes it can lead to stalking in real life.
