It’s the last day that freshmen will be freshmen, sophomores will be sophomores, and juniors will be juniors. It’s the last day of school and everyone has those mixed feelings. Freshman are relieved that they made it through their first year at the high school. Sophomores are excited they get to be upperclassmen, and juniors are a little timid about becoming seniors next year. It’s the last day of school and everyone has different emotions about how fast the year flew by.
Four years seems like a long time, it seems like an eternity to some. After entering high school, four years seems like a few months. The quarters fly by, the years fly by and before any student blinks they are already moving into their next year of high school. For most students a lot has changed since the first day they walked through those glass doors and walked on the white tile. High school has a tendency to change people whether it’s for the better or for the worst, but change happens. Whether the change happens quickly and noticeably, or it happens throughout the whole course of high school, eventually people change.
Looking back on the 2011-2012 year many memories are going to flash through peoples heads. It could be a sad memory, a happy memory, or just a completely embarrassing memory, but those memories still took place here at Marion High School. What people don’t understand is how important those memories become. This school is where students spend four years learning, growing, maturing, and most importantly making memories with those they will never forget.
The four years that get spent here are irreplaceable. To freshman it may seem like graduation and the rest of life is just taking forever to arrive, but to juniors everything is approaching too fast. To some this may just be another last day of school, but students should think of it as being one step closer to leaving the place that so many memories were created with those unforgettable people who were introduced the very first day of class.
