He sees his name come up on the screen, an indication that it’s his turn. He picks up his shiny bowling ball and positions himself correctly on the wood floor. He creeps towards the top of the lane and throws the ball just right, aiming for a strike.
Peter Rethwisch, junior, is involved in many activities at Marion High School. Some of those include cross country, track, baseball, Win With Wellness, NHS, and lastly, bowling. Peter looks back on the season as it comes to an end. “It’s going well. We’re doing as good as we did last year, and we’re pretty consistent,” he exclaimed. The bowling team only has two games left, followed by Regionals at Lancer Lanes.
Peter’s favorite part about bowling is the team. They always get along and it’s usually a lot of fun! His least favorite part is the same as anybody’s, throwing a poor game with a low score. “[This year] I started off fine, but I got worse as the season went. I think next year I will do a lot better,” Peter explained. Next year, Peter aims to raise his average and best his high score.
As the meet comes to an end, Peter knows the season will soon follow. He waits for the next bowling meet to arrive in anticipation and prepares himself during the last few practices of the season.
