Shameless

By: Melanie Loesel [Staff Writer]

Every Sunday at 9 PM on Showtime, a new episode of the show  “Shameless” is premiered. The title says it all; the Gallagher family doesn’t show shame for anything that they do whether it’s something small as cheating on a test or big as cheating their taxes. Due to the nature of this program it may be insulting, but it’s almost impossible to look away and it’s a great way to spend the night.

Frank Gallagher, a single, narcissistic, alcoholic father of six kids leaves his oldest Fiona, who is in her early twenties to care of the house, the bills, and the rest of his kids. Fiona is forced to raise her siblings as her own. The kids do whatever it takes to get by, and they are always in survival mode. What people don’t realize is that there are people out there living like this, which is what makes the show so real.

Watching this show is like watching a train wreck, it’s extremely entertaining, but also very inappropriate on so many levels. Some people may find this show offensive, which is understandable due to just the story line alone, but there are certain people out there dealing with situations like this. Tune in to showtime each Sunday to see the unbelieveable things the Gallagher’s will due to get by, it may be ridiculous but it’s never boring.
