As the last minute touch ups on hair and make-up are made, she rehearses her lines to herself over and over again. She was surprisingly calm compared to a few of the others backstage with her. This was her first night of her last high school musical and was eager for it to be the best musical she has been a part of.
This past weekend was bitter sweet for senior, Cassidy McCoy. After spending the past two months preparing for this year’s musical, which took place November 4th, 5th,and 6th, she was relieved to have one less stress on her shoulders. But on the other side of the spectrum, it was a sad weekend for this senior. This was Cassidy’s last musical she would be a part of at MHS. “ It was pretty sad since it was my last musical…I’m really going to miss it,” she says. Despite the bitterness, Cassidy didn’t let it affect her attitude during the show.
Whether it was inside jokes during some of the shows or backstage craziness, Cassidy had a lot of fun. “The last show was my favorite because we had a huge joke going throughout the cast members during the entire show,” she laughed. When fun wasn’t happening on stage, there wasn’t a moment with out it backstage. “Meghan Herren and I pretty much partied the whole time backstage…it was awesome,” Cassidy says. There was never a dull moment at any of the shows.
Cassidy is doing her last minute touch ups with her hair and make-up. She’s repeating her lines and songs to herself. She has butterflies, but she’s excited to get on stage in front of everyone hoping to make Marion proud.
