Getting ready for her first high school dance, she’s nervous. Make up is spread out on the counter, her nails are nicely done and her hair is finally perfect. She’s all ready to go, but still nervous about her night.
Haley Vanourney, freshmen, is nervous for the homecoming dance this Saturday. She comments, “I think everything else [football game and spirit week] will be good.” Altogether she has spent about $60 on homecoming.
Although she’s nervous for Saturday, she really enjoys homecoming week. “[My favorite part is] the game because you get to see your friends and cheer for the school,” exclaimed Haley. Haley used to be part of a big group for homecoming, but then her group split into to smaller groups.
On her way to the dance, she worked up her excitement. As her date opened the door and she stepped out she felt great and changed from being nervous, to excited.
