On October 3rd, Aaron Samuels asked what day it was, and Cady Heron answered “It’s October 3rd.” Today, we honor a pop-culture classic from 2004. But how do we celebrate National Mean Girls Day?
First of all, on Wednesdays, we wear pink. It may not be a Wednesday, but for “Mean Girls” sake, go ahead and rock it. Also, remember, like Gretchen said, “you can’t wear a tank top two days in a row, you can only wear your hair in a ponytail one day a week, and you can only wear jeans or track pants on Fridays.” If any of these rules are broken, be prepared to lose your spot at lunch if you’re table consists of some die hard “Mean Girls” fans.
Another way to celebrate, make fetch happen. Spread this word on the holiest of days. Regina can’t stop it now. After all, Gretchen makes a good point saying, “Why should Caesar just get to stomp around like a giant while the rest of us try not to get smushed under his big feet? Brutus is just as cute as Caesar, right? Brutus is just as smart as Caesar, people totally like Brutus just as much as they like Caesar, and when did it become okay for one person to be the boss of everybody because that’s not what Rome is about! We should totally just STAB CAESAR,” and that is why fetch is going to happen.
No matter what, sign the “Mean Girls 2” petition. There is already a sequel, but who wouldn’t prefer one with a reunion cast. Of course, it will be hard to top, but fans are desperate for Tina Fey to write it. Click here if you want “Mean Girls 2” to become a reality.
Quote the movie whenever possible. If seen enough, knowing every word is fairly easy. Don’t worry about if there are enough quotes for any situation, because the limit does not exist.
Finally, watch the movie, obviously! Sit back, relax, and recite the movie. Remember everything “Mean Girls” has taught us. Clearly, we learned all the fashion don’ts, don’t dress too scary on halloween, ladies. Girls should wear hoop earrings, if it makes them happy. We learned a dance to “Jingle Bell Rock” for the next school talent show. But deeper than that, viewers learned a valuable lesson from a famous Cady Heron quote, “Calling somebody else fat won’t make you any skinnier. Calling someone stupid doesn’t make you any smarter. And ruining Regina George’s life definitely didn’t make you any happier. All you can do in life is try to solve the problem in front of you.” Maybe, “Mean Girls” was a lot deeper than everyone thought.
