All students know the feeling of being late to class, their feet are just steps away from the class door and the bell springs to life in the hall. The student walks in and the teacher says, “You’re late” with their eyebrows raised.
Kayleigh Bunting, freshman, knows the feeling. The school policy here at MHS for those who do not know is that after 3 tardies a student must serve a Saturday morning restitution.
“I believe the school should find another way to deal with tardies like after school study hall or something, being on time is the key,” Bunting said. Another reason students are often late to class is all of the chaos in the hallways. “The halls are very bad and full of distractions like friends and conversations,” stated Bunting.
“Its not really a struggle being late, it’s just getting there on time.” Bunting finally stated. Many students agree with Bunting’s feelings about the tardy system.
