Whether one is fighting with his or her friends or never had any friends to begin with, they always have something to turn to. This apparently reliable friend is food. Food is there to comfort anyone, but this loyalty doesn’t come without a cost; bored snacking results in the pounds being put on.
In the winter there’s nothing to do but stay inside, and once one gets a car, driving around is one of the only things to do. And, in order to ensnare unsuspecting drivers, fast food looms around every corner. Places like Taco Bell beckon drivers with their intoxicating aromas and cheap prices. Poor students love the prices, and boredom disguises itself as hunger.
Realizing this fatal attraction is the first step in combating it. Food is just a plug to fill the void of inactivity. Instead of eating ones brains out, one should find a hobby they can do with friends, such as stamp collecting or doing homework. Staying busy is the key to avoid eating out of boredom.
