Getting ready in the morning, the radio blaring the latest hits, the announcer comes on and all that is heard is 84 degrees and sunny. A smile followed by a Pauly D inspired fist pump is practically automatic. This summer weather is finally here and we couldn’t be more happy about it.
It was starting to seem like this past winter was dragging on forever. Wearing sweatshirts and jeans was starting to be more depressing, than comfy considering it was already May. With only 9 days left for the seniors, and 14 for the rest of Marion’s student body until summer vacation, this sudden change in climate was exactly what we needed. Summer is just days away and all of this sun gives us that motivation to do work and get the school year done.
While we have that reminder of summer surrounding us at the high school, not only is it motivation to get our stuff done, it’s a wonderful distraction. All of the plans of the future days of summer at the beach, staying up late, and relaxing with friends are on the minds of the students.
So with the countdown nearing it’s end, get out and soak up some of those rays, because it’ll be gone before you know it.
