One Tree Hill is a show that first aired on Sept. 23, 2003 and consists of nine seasons. The final episode was released on April 4, 2012. After nine years of the show, they ended it, but now there is talk of rebooting the drama-filled series with some of the same cast.
One Tree Hill is a show that takes place in a high school setting. The main characters are two brothers, Lucas and Nathan, who have the same dad but different moms. They are the same age but grew up living very different lives. Both of the siblings have a love for basketball, but in the first season, they compete against each other to decide who gets to play on the school team. Eventually, they work out their differences and play together. Along with the brotherly rivalry, comes the family drama. The father of both chooses Nathan over Lucas, but later in the show decides he wants to be a part of his life too. The series also portrays many aspects of love and relationships while in high school. It also shows how friendships change and go back and forth over the little things. Another idea the show includes is to pursue the career one decides is important to them. A couple of characters choose to follow their dream in music and art. The nine seasons of this show included a lot of drama, love, friendship, and growth. It’s intriguing to see what will happen in the reboot of this show.
Hilarie Burton and Sophia Bush have spoken out about the show coming back. The two actresses, along with Bethany Joy Lenz, who also starred in the show, share a podcast called “Drama Queens.” In the podcast, both Hilarie and Sophia agreed they “wish the news hadn’t been leaked” and that “it happens” according to Yahoo.com. Along with the two actresses coming back to the show, Danneel Ackles has confirmed she will be coming back as well. Chad Michael Murray, who left the show in season six after marrying Hilarie’s character, claims he has not been asked to come back but mentioned that he wasn’t opposed to returning. The sequel of the show will take place during the characters’ adult lives, following Brooke and Peyton’s childhood friendship into their twenties. If Lenz and James Lafferty, who plays Nathan, were to return, it would follow how their marriage turned out and raise their child, Jamie, who was born during their senior year of high school. Brooke will also be seen raising her twin boys with Julian while navigating through their own lives.
The show has yet to have a release date, but it’s currently in the works. Though I have not personally finished the whole series, it is still exciting to see that a second part will be coming out. This show demonstrates various aspects of high school and what it could be like. The series has many different ideas that show how life could turn out. It may be a while until the sequel airs, but hopefully it will be in the next year.
