She dribbles down the court. She shoots the ball. It goes into the basket the crowd goes wild, she’s excited because she just shot the game winning shot.

Senior Meghan Herren has played basketball since she was in seventh grade. It’s one of her favorite sports. “I started playing because I had friends in basketball,” she said. She also plays softball. Meghan plays on the JV basketball team, and she sits for the varsity team. One of her favorite things about being on the team is becoming close with her teammates. “I like getting closer with the individuals that I normally wouldn’t outside of basketball,” Meghan said with a smile. Her least favorite part is, “losing because as a team we work so hard in practice and you just want to see it pay off.” The JV and varsity team play tonight at MHS starting with the JV team at 6 p.m.

She walks down the hallway nicely dressed. They work so hard in practice for this day. All day she gets herself mentally prepared. She’s ready for the game tonight.
