Starting Wednesday 21st, from 8:30 am to 1:25 pm there will be a blood drive. This is the second blood drive this year and it is very successful. About one hundred students are signed up and more are sure to arrive. The Win With Wellness Team puts on each blood drive, and it’s a great service-learning project. “For each donor, three lives are being saved,” informs Dostal. A lot of people benefit from the blood donated from Marion High School. “ 90% of blood collected goes to cancer patients.” Dostal is very proud of all who have signed up for the cause and the Win With Wellness Members. Giving blood is easy but it may take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. “It takes about six minutes to give the blood, but they also have to do a blood sample test. The longest part of the donating process is the variety of questions on the history and background of each person,” tells Dostal.
The blood drive is such a good cause, and with all the people signed up a lot of lives will be touched. The people donating the blood should all be proud of themselves for donating to such a great beneficial project.
