There comes a time in every senior’s life when they must realize that it’s time to grow up and let go of high school and all the memories that come with it. One night in particular is hard for the seniors who play a sport, this night is called Senior Night. Senior Night is the night where seniors are recognized for all their hard work over all the years they’ve put into these teams.
Devin Quinn, senior, is facing his Senior Night for basketball. He’s going to miss all the memories he has made over the years. “I’m going to miss going to class, seeing my basketball boys, and taking the school over with them. I’m also going to miss winning the championship,” Quinn stated. Quinn will miss all his teammates and his coaches as well. “I’m going to miss my ballers and I’m going to to be missing my manager: Sydney Brase. Also I’m going to miss the way my coach lets me get mine,” Quinn stated.
Being on the basketball team since his freshman year, Quinn has made a lot of memories that he will most likely remember for the rest of his life. “My favorite memory was when I dropped the double on the worst team in our conference,” Quinn commented. The only bad thing about being on a team for four years is the bittersweet memories that come with it. “My worst memory was when I sat on the bench my whole junior year. I just wanted to play,” Quinn said.
As Senior Night rolls closer, the realization that his last basketball season at Marion High School is almost over hits Quinn hard. He gets ready to play his last few games, cherishing the time he has spent with his teammates and coaches. His time to play will soon be over.
