Over winter break most kids stay inside to watch tv, play video games, hang with friends, or play sports. But unlike the average teen, Hunter Kiernan, freshmen, spends his free time hunting and ice fishing.
Kiernan loves to be outdoors. “I go hunting as much as possible, usually a couple times every week.” he explained. Kiernan’s family and friends motivated him to start at a young age. His favorite part about hunting and fishing is, “Being outside and spending time with the people I hunt with.” His least favorite part about doing these activities in the winter is the cold. If Kiernan had to pick between fishing and hunting he’d pick fishing because, “It never gets old and I can do it all year long!” In fact he plans to dedicate most of his Christmas break in North Dakota fishing.
Kiernan encourages others to hunt and fish in their free time because it’s fun and you don’t have to sit inside all day. So over break when you’ve ran out of things to do whip out that fishing pole and go take a little stroll by the creek and maybe..just maybe..you’ll catch a little something.

ALex – when I asked Kaydence if she had her PowWow done, she said she had her picture too. How come no picture?
Kaydence – I have Hunter in class and he is an avid outdoorsman. He is good at anything he puts his mind to. I liked your last line there inviting the readers to go fishing themselves!
