Being a part of something bigger than oneself is something that every high school student strives to achieve. Whether it be getting involved in a sport, or simply joining an organization that meets a few times a year, everyone just wants to feel welcome.
Sydney Pitstick, senior, is one of these students. She has been involved with Win with Wellness, a club run by Ms. Lori Dostal, since her sophomore year. She has formed new friendships with people in the club even though they don’t necessarily meet that often. “There are around 20 students, and we meet roughly three times a year,” Pitstick said. Since it is a club for sophomores through seniors, it is easy to meet people from other grades that have the same interests.
Being involved with Win with Wellness means that Pitstick gets to help with the blood drive, her favorite part. “My favorite part is volunteering at the blood drive because we get to eat cookies and get out of class,” explained Pitstick. Through this fun opportunity, Pitstick has shaped herself into a better person. “It makes me feel better about myself when I volunteer.,” commented Pitstick. Not only does it make her feel good, but it helps out the workers at the drive.
Everyone strives to help others and give back to their community, and through Win with Wellness Pitstick is able to do this in a way that she finds fulfilling.

Kayla – I always like it when you guys showcase someone like this who is unselfishly doing something for the good of others. And Ms. Dostal, the Win with Wellness sponsor, might be the most unselfish and kind person I’ve ever known. Way to go, Sydney!
