She paces on the stand, practicing her lines over and over trying to get them down. She focuses on the crowd, trying to express her emotion as clearly as possible. As the showing date nears closer, will she be ready in time?
Shelby Brewer, junior, is starring as one of the lead roles in this years musical ‘Radium Girls’ as Kathryn Schaub. As the character, she must explain her tragic accident while showing her anger and emotion at the same time. The play is about a scientist who thinks that radium is the cure to all medical problems. While using the radium on the a group of girls, Schaub being one, they die during the process after getting sick due radium.
The playgroup practices for 2-3 hours each practice. “We practice every monday, tuesday and thursday in the auditorium” Brewer stated. The play shows on November 6th in the auditorium at 7:00 P.M. Mr. McMahon is in charge of the play this year. “The play has a strong script and a very good cast,” stated McMahon, “The show is also based off a true story.” Students should come out and watch the play if they’re looking for something very unique to see.
