She knows that every time she laces up her shoes for practice, she gets one step closer to the first meet of the year. The more they run, the closer the team gets to their ultimate goal of Girls State Track 2014. In just 18 short days the girls state track team will have their first meet, and Johanna Steggall, Junior, could not be more excited.
“I’ve been running track since 7th grade, I run 100’s, 200’s, and 400’s.” says Steggall. The girls track team laced up and started practicing on Tuesday, and are already working hard to achieve their future goals. “This year I want to make it to state and get top eight in one of the events” says Steggall. “Hopefully we make it.”
The excitement of the upcoming season and the want for their team to make it to state this year is enough to drive them to hopefully beat some personal and school records. The girls track season is off to a great start, Steggall and her team are hoping to meet some big goals.
