2009 to the average student today feels like a thousand years ago, but to Kayla McGrew it was just like yesterday. McGrew graduated five years ago and has returned today to sub for Mrs. Keoppen’s math class.
“Honestly I was nervous, like will people remember me, what was my image in high school,” McGrew said laughing. “Marion is my first official subbing job and I would like to do more here. Friday I’m going to sub for Mr. Martin,” she said. Coming back to Marion from 2009 and seeing all the new things is quite an overflow. “I love the new additions they’ve added to the school,” McGrew stated, “Its also fun seeing familiar faces.”
McGrew is beginning to sub for teachers but hasn’t started looking for full time teaching jobs yet. “I’d love to come back and work someday as a full time teacher, but until then I’ll be subbing here more often,” McGrew finally stated.
