The season is in full swing. They have been working hard, shedding and gaining pounds in order to make weight for their meets.
Devin Royer, junior, is on the wrestling team and is very excited for their wrestling meet on Saturday. He can’t wait to see how it will turn out for his team. “We have a few new schools and we lost a few guys but we have been working hard, and I think some of the JV guys will do really well.” Royer knows that his team will have to overcome some challenges this Saturday but he has high hopes. “Our biggest competition is probably Vinton they are ranked third in the state. Hopefully we place, we have been working hard in the wrestling room during practices,” Royer said.
Even though Royer knows that his team will have to work extra hard this weekend he is excited to get out on the mat and do what he loves. “I’m most excited about getting good competition, having fun and hopefully getting first!”
Royer and the rest of the team have been preparing all season for their meets. This meet on Saturday offers many challenges for the wrestling team, but Royer knows that his team can do amazing and hopefully win.
