The new and improved. After groundbreaking success and heartbreak, she’s back with a whole new sound and a brand new her. It has been three years since the release of “Teenage Dream” the second consecutive album by pop star Katy Perry. In the span of those three years Katy reached to the top of the Billboard music charts five times with all her album’s radio singles, “Teenage Dream” went muilti-platinum, she went on the biggest tour of her career, and went through a divorce that was plastered all over the media with actor/comedian Russell Brand. Now two months after her three year anniversary of “Teenage Dream”, Katy Perry releases her third consecutive album “Prism”.
Katy Perry has opened up fully about her divorce, her feelings, and her bright future. The album’s slogan “Let the Light In” clearly displays the new and improved Katy Perry. From the immature and young girl who found throwing caution to the wind a good thing now comes back a strong and wise woman with wisdom from the lessons she herself has learned. Her new album “Prism” has 16 songs on the album including her hit single “Roar” which has already sold 5.5 million copies and still rising, according to Billboard magazine. Katy Perry releases adrenaline pumping songs on the album like “Birthday”, “Legendary Lovers”, “This is How We Do”, and “Dark Horse” that have a much more mature sound compared to “Teenage Dream”. She also has classy mello songs on the album like “International Smile”, “Love Me”, “Walking on Air”, and “This Moment” much more original and made specifically for “Prism”.
Then Katy releases song such as “Unconditionally” which is her second confirmed radio single, “Double Rainbow”, and “Spiritual” these songs are about loving your significant other for who they are and knowing they are the match from God.
One of the most touching songs is one she worked through her heart called, “By the Grace of God.” In this song she talks about her struggle getting through the day due to her massive heartbreak and having to deal with the divorce. “Ghost” is about the text Russell Brand sent her announcing he wanted a divorce. Lyrics in the song such as “And now you’re just a Ghost when I look back never would’ve known that you could be so cold, like a stranger vanish like a vapor.” Other songs like “It takes Two” and “Choose your Battles” focus on her move on from her sadness, accepting her part in the situation, and choosing to overcome her immaturity.
“Prism” the third consecutive album by Katy Perry is a smash hit and will soon rise to the charts and with the sound its giving it will out sell “Teenage Dream”.
Katy Perry has now officially “Let the Light In”.
