Most teens in this world think that the whole road belongs to them. They swerve, speed, and do many other dangerous stunts because they don’t care. It’s almost as if driving is a game to them, and they only way to win the game is to wreak as much havoc while driving as possible.
Not only that, but now most teen’s text while driving too. When a car is flying down the road at 10+ miles per hour over the speed limit, is it really a good idea to add more danger to the situation and add a distraction? If someone’s focus is not 100% on the road, it is very easy for them to miss the light turning red, and smash right into another vehicle.
It’s not only teens that drive like this. There are other exceptions. There are adults who disrespect the rules of the road too, but it is less common. Maybe it’s because they’ve experienced crashes, or maybe it’s the maturity level, or it might even be that they don’t feel the need to “show off their driving skills.” The reason is unknown, but what is known is that teenagers need to learn that cars are not toys.
Cars are thousands of pounds of killing machines. What is it going to take for a teenager to realize that, they could kill someone, or even get killed themselves? Hopefully the answer is not that extreme, but in any case, the carelessness of teens needs to stop.
