This winter everyone was expecting the same thing. They fall asleep with dry ground and wake up in the morning with a foot that had fallen over night. But this year was different. November passed, then December and still no snow. Only part way into January is when snow finally decided to fall on Marion.
Matt Teff, ’13, is content with the snowfall, but also misses the warm weather.“[The weather] has been nice because you are able to do things you need warmer weather for in December,” Teff says cheerfully. Just like thousands of other people, the snow has affected their morning routine. “I start my day earlier to have more time to get to school and drive slower so I don’t die,” Teff explains.
Many people were so happy there was no snow and the sun shone. Matt feels the same way, but also enjoys the snow. “It’s fun to play with my four wheel drive,” Teff laughs. “[The snow] doesn’t really bother me, because we have had more,” Teff says coolly.
Just like other people, Teff feels that the snow is a danger. “Its dangerous because a lot of people weren’t ready,” he expresses. Not being prepared for the sudden snowfall can be extremely dangerous.
Every year can’t be like this year though. The warm weather is a rarity in mid December, but there will always be warm weather in the summer time.
