In December, pictures of Santa, candy canes and tinsel come to mind. But one especially sticks out. Snow. Blanketing the face of the earth with a white blanket. Every year snow adds more and more spirit to our Christmas. But will this Christmas show even a small trace of the fluffy flurry?
Christmas without snow is like Thanksgiving without Turkey. It’s an expectation, waking up on Christmas morning and seeing snow. Snow makes Christmas lights sparkle even more. This year though, the lights decked around the houses seem bare. The question is: where’s the snow?
So far, the small glimpses of snow have last a whole few seconds. Conditions have just not combined. The ground is either too warm or the air is not cold enough. In the future, temperatures are rising, meaning less and less chances for some precipation.
Technically, winter is just around the corner. Mother nature has been stuck in the season it’s actually in, fall. Snow can definitely cause massive chaos, making roads a crash course waiting to happen. But snow that is here to stay, whatever the amount, will make the Holidays more magical.
On the bright side, there is snow in the forecast. A lot can change in two weeks. We could go from nothing, to snow that is halfway up a house. But with Christmas coming quickly, the urge for snow is increasing.
